What are your Favourite Words? Join us to learn how our Favourite Words (CanChild’s F Word framework) can help with planning, inclusion, and communication with health care providers and school system.
This model is being used more and more in classrooms. This workshop, presented by CanChild’s parent representative and specialists, will provide an overview and answer your questions.
Speakers
Rachel Tepilcky
Rachel is CanChild’s Business and Engagement Officer. She oversees the MPOC Measurement and Analysis Service and the CanChild Shop, and is a member of CanChild’s F-Words and Participation research teams.
Rachel is an occupational therapist and has worked with preschool-aged children and their families. She has a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Science.
Lynda Moore
Lynda is parent to an adventurous child in Kindergarten here in BC who recently transitioned from Early Intervention to School Age. She works as Outreach Director for CanChild with Family Engagement in Research and F-Words for Childhood Development and is currently presenting virtual and in person to health organizations throughout BC with members of the CanChild F-Words team.
With a writing and film background, she has a special interest in how families and individuals are asked to share their story and how inclusion is defined and implemented.
Danijela Grahovac
Technical Support Specialist at CanChild and a point person for websites design/maintenance and IT issues, Danijela is also a mother of a twenty-one years old son with cerebral palsy. She has an engineering/research background (M.Sc. IT Engineer), and brings extensive expertise in computer technology. She developed and launched the website for International Alliance of Academies of Childhood Disability, as well as GMFM Criterion Test and ENVISAGE moodle sites.
In 2022, she developed online Learning Management System – F-words Training Program, and in 2023, the Family Engagement in Research (FER) Training Program. Danijela was involved in the school systems in Ontario and has previously done research on the use of SMART boards for children with development difficulties.
