Chilliwack Meat Draw

April 29, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Friendly Mike’s Pub and the Knights of Columbus are teaming up once again to host a meat draw fundraiser in support of children and adults living with cerebral palsy on April 29. Additionally, another dozen local business have donated gift certificates, white-water rafting passes, golf lessons and baseball tickets for a silent auction during the draw. All proceeds from the event will go to support the programs of the Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia (CPABC).

“We believe that everyone deserves to live a Life Without Limits,” says CPABC Executive Director Feri Dehdar. “Because each person with cerebral palsy is affected in their own unique way, everyone has different needs in terms of services, equipment and programs. For example, it can be very difficult to raise funds for specialized equipment or accessible summer camps. Money raised from the meat draw will help the CPABC to provide these types of services for our members.”

The CPABC was first selected as a charity of choice by Friendly Mike’s Pub and the Knights of Columbus in 2006, and the fundraiser has been held almost every year since then. Last year, over $1,500 was raised for the CPABC’s programs and services, which include adapted dance, yoga and art programs.

The Chilliwack Meat Draw will take place on April 29, 2016 at Friendly Mike’s Pub from 5 to 9 PM. The event is open to the public and representatives from the CPABC will be on hand to talk about its programs.
