Job Coach – Pre-employment program
The Pre-employment training program provides free job readiness skill development for individuals living with physical disabilities. Throughout March and May, a small group of participants will participate in class based workshops as well as 30 hours of volunteer work at the CPABC or another business/association. We hope to recruit a job coach to help plan the workshops as well as provide one on one career counselling advice either in person or remotely in the evenings. This position would involve a commitment of 1-2 hours weekly for 3 months and a stipend will be negotiated.

Skills & Experience
-Experience teaching/coaching individuals with disabilities
-leadership/facilitation experience
-educational background in coaching/teaching/life skills/job search skills is an asset

Benefits & Recognition
Staff and volunteers are recognized through various small events, at the CPABC’s AGM, and through our monthly newsletter. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience while interacting with people with disabilities.

Deliverables / Duties
– Meet at least once with each of the participants (up to 8 individuals) throughout the course of 12 weeks to provide tailored job search and career advice (one hour meeting)
– Provide advice regarding workshop topics
– Communicate clearly and efficiently with the CPABC and program participants

Other Requirements
The ideal candidate would be available weekday evenings and able to arrange their own transportation downtown (parking/bus passes are subject to reimbursement).

Time commitment
1-2 hours per week as of March 2016.
Weekdays, evenings, potentially one afternoon every few weeks
